Renew an Existing License: Accountancy Board

This service is available for individuals and businesses. A Renewal ID will be mailed to you 90 days prior to the expiration of your current license.

  1. From the PULSE Portal Services Menu, select Renew an Existing License.  

  1. On the Search License Renewal page, select the License Type: Business or Individual. Enter the appropriate search information, and then click Next.

Note: The renewal ID was mailed to you by the District of Columbia.

  1. Read the Attestation information. If you agree, click I Agree. You will not be able to continue the license renewal application if you do not agree to the attestation.

  1. On the Renewal Action page, select Renew.

  1. Answer the renewal questions. If you answer "yes" to any of the questions, you must provide additional information in the comments field. For Question 3, you must provide information on a separate piece of paper and mail it (along with your Confirmation Page) to Pearson VUE. When you have answered the questions as required, click Continue.

  1. Verify the Contact Information. If you need to make changes in any of the fields, click the  link to the right of the respective field, and then enter new information into the field. Click Save, and then click Continue.

  1. One copy of your license is provided with the renewal application. Additional copies are available for $30.00 by completing the Request a Duplicate License Form. Check the box to request a duplicate license and enter the number of copies you would like to order. Then select the address where the duplicate (s) should be sent: your mailing address (which is prepopulated in the form) or a new address. Click Continue.

  1. If you have requested a duplicate license, a summary page appears specifying the added fees. Click Confirm and Continue. If you need to make a change, click Change My Request to return to the previous page.

  1. On the Fee Summary page, verify the selected information. Click Continue.

  1. Enter your credit card information. Blue fields are REQUIRED. Applicants from the United States or Canada must enter a state or province. All other applicants must enter a country. Click Continue.

  1. On the Summary page, verify the information and click Renew My License. If you need to change information, click Change My Request.

  1. Review the Confirmation page and take note of the Confirmation ID. You may print this page for your records by clicking the Print button in the lower right corner. Click Close to return to the main PULSE menu. You can check the status of your pending renewal on this portal at Transaction Status Inquiry.
